Worship

The journey with God is as diverse as there are people.

We want you to feel free to come as you are to join our community on that journey. Our worship has a blend of musical styles with a scripture oriented message that is grounded in faith and relevant to today’s life and challenges. Our hope is that you would come to know yourself here, as God created you.

Worship Series for Lent

The Hero’s Journey – We don’t often think of Jesus in terms of a hero.  And yet,his journey that leads to the cross and ultimately to resurrection marks the journey of the archetypal hero.  Join us each week as we take note of each of these stages, landing us in holy week, awaiting new life with resurrection on Easter.

Overview of Lenten Themes

Ash Wednesday, February 14 “Departure” (Joel 2:1-2, 12-17; Psalm 51:1-17)

February 18 “Led into the Wilderness” (Mark 1:9-15)
The wilderness feels scary, so why is Jesus “led” there?

February 25 “The Temptation to Refuse the Call” (Mark 8:31-38)
Doing anything difficult but right, there will always be temptations to lighten our resolve

March 3 “The Point of No Return” (Mark 11:15-18)
When Jesus gets angry in the marketplace he commits to his journey, and its end.

March 10 “Living the Light” (John 1:1-4, 14; John 3:16-21)
The inevitable difficulties of life here speak to the importance of choosing light.

March 17 “Bigger than I” (John 12:20-33)
Jesus’ commitment was to die for something bigger than he, shouldn’t we be willing to live for the same?

Palm Sunday, March 24 “A Different Kind of Leadership” (Mark 11:1-11)
Jesus turned the values of the day on their head.  We’re often asked to do the same today.

Holy Thursday, March 28 “By Our Love” (John 13:1-17, 31b-35)
How should Christians be known?  By our love.

Easter, March 31 “Love Manifested” (Mark 16:1-8)
With Jesus we know that love wins.  Why not live like that?
